The success of current activities to develop the Makran coasts depends on the provision of primary infrastructures including fresh water, electricity, etc. Such infrastructures have significant importance in the densely populated region in the south of Sistan and Baluchistan province. Accordingly, the project for the construction of desalination system is at the top of Chabahar Free Zone Organization agenda and by implementing the intended project, a significant portion of the needs of the industries and residents of the region is met for safe water. The production of potable water from the sea by Reverse Osmosis (RO) is one of the most cost-effective methods of supplying drinking water in the world. During the past years, several projects have been implemented using this technique four large projects in the southern regions of the country with a total capacity of 50,000 cubic meters are operating. It is worth mentioning that the only desalination Complex in Chabahar and Conarak area with a nominal capacity of 35,000 cubic meters is in operation 24 hours a day.
This project is designed to provide potable water required for the region and neighboring areas located in a dry area with low annual rainfall. Currently, Chabahar Free Zone Organization purchases drinking water from a factory outside the area, but the industry growth will significantly change the daily water needs and water storage in the near future. Production of 100,000 cubic meters of water is intended to meet the needs of consumers of residents and also light industries in the region.
a. Direct foreign and/ or domestic investment
Participation with the private sector in which the land will be based on long-term lease or participation with the Free Trade Zone Organization in which land and licenses will be the share of the Free Zone.
Potential investors or developers are invited to implement the intended project in the Free Zone by establishing a company. These companies will enjoy the legal facilities and incentives prevailing in the Free Zones.
a. Tax exemptions for 20 years
b. Exemption from import duties of machinery and raw materials.
c. Importation of good produced in this park to the mainland is exempt from payment of all or part of customs duties to the " added value " thereof in the Zone.
Enjoying from all other legal incentives available in the Free Zones.
-The project can be converted to EPCF or Turnkey contracts.
-The above-mentioned amount is only for preparatory operations. The investment required for the implementation of each designed plant or unit within the park is separate.
